Culture – You hear a lot about it, but what is it and why is it important?
Unless you’re starting your business today, there’s no blank slate when it comes to company culture. Culture is either going to happen organically over time or you can get ahead of it and help set the trajectory of the culture you want for your organization.
Culture is the heart and soul of a company. From the very beginning, I had a vision of what I wanted our culture to be. I wanted our company to have a culture 1) of excellence in all we do; 2) where people are treated really, really well, from our employees and our clients, to the people who deliver our mail and everyone we come in contact with in the community; and 3) of stewardship. I wanted to use the business as a platform to open the eyes of our staff and our customers of opportunities to make our communities better.
